With the introduction of Variax® 500, we made it possible to have the sounds of 25 classic acoustic and electric guitars a single instrument. Guitarists no longer had to carry around multiple guitars to get the tone they needed. For studio or stage, no other guitar on the planet offered the versatility, playability, or sonic integrity of Variax 500. But it didn't stop there.
The digital input jack on Variax 500 allowed guitarists to plug directly into Vetta™ II or POD® xt Live. In addition to providing power for Variax, the connections enabled the Line 6 gear to "communicate" with each other, making it possible to change entire rigs with the press of a footswitch. This digital connection also gave guitarists the ability to plug Variax 500 into their computers via Variax Workbench, where they could create altered tunings, create custom guitars, and much more.
